Status: Event completed 10/26/08. Rotarians participating:.

· Gingerbread Christmas Jim Perkins

Status: Virginia Gingerbread Christmas Committee already in progress. Event scheduled at Sage Moon Gallery Dec. 4-5-6-7, 2008.
Rotary will again fund the Cash prizes in the amount of $700.

· Salvation Army Bell Ringing Tom McQueeney

· Speech Contest Jason Hull and Trice Taylor

Status: Jason Hull and Trice Taylor will be asked to chair this again. $500 committed to this project.

· Walker School Atlases Grant Brownrigg

Status: District has approved a $950 Simplified Grant. Atlases will be given in Spring 2009.

· Adopt a Park with the City (hands on/fund raising) Jennifer McKeever accepted Chair

to be SIGNATURE PROJECT Need members

Status: Jeff Mike Svetz, City Director of Parks and Recreation. Svetz gave presentation to Rotary Club 10/26/08. Proposals and involvement
look very promising and potentially very beneficial to our community. Rotarian volunteers are being gathered by Jennifer.

· Feed the Hungry Doug McGowan & Jonathan Peterson

Status: Dick Nunley proposed a Feed the Hungry Project .

INTERNATIONAL SERVICE

· Ambassadorial Scholarship for Kati Willson Michael Semanik
Kati selected as alternate

· Wum Water Project in Cameroon Tom Dunnells

Status: Progressing well. Tom to work with Jennifer King’s Fundraising Committee .
